Consumers Unfazed by Banking Crisis, But Anticipate a Recession

Consumers appear to have shrugged off the recent banking crisis but are nonetheless increasingly expecting a recession in the coming year, according to the latest survey of consumer sentiment from the University of Michigan released on Friday.

On the one hand, consumers see an improving picture for inflation. But on the other, their mood is continuing to reflect concerns about the health of the economy.
